Description
The course aims to introduce participants to the world of digital illustration, from basic concepts and tools to creating their own artworks. Through practical work, participants will learn how to use digital drawing tools, understand layers, work with colors and effects, and design and create their own illustrations. By the end of the course, each participant will create an original digital project that can be applied in education or artistic expression.
Target audiences
Educators, primary and secondary school teachers (general and vocational), as well as anyone interested in developing skills in digital drawing and illustration. The program is adapted for beginners but includes advanced techniques for those who already have basic knowledge of digital tools.
Course program
Day 1: Introduction to Digital Illustration
- What is digital illustration and what are its applications?
- Overview of digital drawing software and basic tools
- Setting up workspace: dimensions, resolution, and file formats
- Basic exercises: using brushes, lines, and shapes
Day 2: Working with Layers and Color Basics
- Understanding layers and their functions (normal layers, masks, effects)
- Applying basic coloring and shading techniques
- Working with colors: palettes, gradients, and color mixing
- Exercises: creating a simple illustration using layers
Day 3: Shaping and Texturing
- Creating details and textures by adjusting brushes
- Techniques for achieving depth: light, shadow, and perspective
- Working on composition and balancing elements within the illustration
- Practical work: creating a more complex drawing with background
Day 4: Stylization and Final Processing
- Developing your own illustration style through experimentation
- Adding final details: reflections, light effects, and highlights
- Preparing illustrations for print and digital formats (resolution, DPI, optimization)
- Working on the final project with mentorship
Day 5: Final Project and Evaluation
- Completing your own digital illustration (from sketch to final version)
- Presentation of works and feedback
- Discussion about applications of digital illustration in education and art
- Tips for further development and recommendations for additional resources and tools
